Fire Retardant Coating

During a fire, unprotected steel reaches its critical failure temperature (~550 °C) in as little as 10 minutes. Our intumescent coatings swell into an insulating char that keeps the steel below that threshold for 60, 90 or 120 minutes.

Available as water-based and solvent-based systems for interior and semi-exposed applications, plus flame-retardant coatings for timber substrates.

Features

  • 60 / 90 / 120 min structural steel protection
  • Water-based and solvent-based options
  • Thin-film aesthetic finish (paintable)
  • Timber flame-retardant variants (Class 1 spread of flame)
  • Applied by airless spray or brush / roller

Applications

  • Structural steel columns and beams
  • Exposed roof trusses
  • Timber wall linings and false ceilings
